Bobby Prod, BBC, Folivari International Among 2026 Cartoon Tributes Winners

Cartoon Forum has announced the winners of its 2026 Cartoon Tributes, with France’s Bobby Prod, U.K. broadcaster BBC, French sales agency Folivari International, and the effortlessly hip Gao Shan Pictures taking home prizes at this year’s event in Toulouse.

Cartoon Forum attendees vote for the awards, which recognize companies working across European animation production, broadcasting, investment, and distribution.

Bobby Prod was named Producer of the Year. Founded in 2008, the French studio specializes in animation for young adult and adult audiences, focusing on irreverent, creator-driven projects. Its slate includes The Broos, which began on social media before being developed as a series with Arte France. The project was pitched at Cartoon Forum in 2024.

The BBC received the Broadcaster of the Year prize. Through CBeebies and CBBC, the U.K. public broadcaster remains a major commissioner and co-producer of children’s animation. Cartoon Forum projects that have made their way into its programming include Duck & Frog, Maddie + Triggs, Piggy Builders, Pablo, and Dungeons & Kittens.

Folivari International was named Investor/Distributor of the Year. Launched in 2024, the French sales agency represents Folivari productions alongside titles acquired from other companies. Its current lineup includes Samuel, Pil’s Adventures, and Ted & Paula’s Tadpole Journey.

This year also saw the introduction of the Ecoprod-Cartoon Tribute, a new category honoring sustainability efforts within European animation. The inaugural award went to La Réunion-based Gao Shan Pictures, whose credits include Jim Queen, In Waves, Lucy Lost, I Lost My Body, Little Nicholas, and many more high-profile titles. The company presented its teen series The Roots of My Hair at this year’s Cartoon Forum in one of the week’s most energetic and well-attended pitches.
