“I had the pleasure to meet the artist Gary Baseman, many years ago, when I just finished the school and I was trying to understand how to work as an illustrator. Gary just told me to build a solid portfolio, choosing a recognizable style, a unique voice to propose, a way to express concepts that were my own and no one else’s, and then send the portfolio to as many art directors as I could.”
